Andrew has 30 years of investment industry experience, and also serves as President of Chittenden & Company, an investment consulting firm registered with the State of Vermont's Securities Division. Andrew also served as Managing Director at Coach House Capital Corporation, an alternative asset private equity firm.
Andrew spent the bulk of his career at Merrill Lynch where he was First Vice President for Institutional Equity Sales based in Boston. At Merrill Lynch his clients included mutual funds, hedge funds, registered investment advisers, banks and trust companies. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1994, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Haigney Securities, Inc., a full reserve, self-clearing broker-dealer founded in 1936. At Haigney Securities, Andrew ran the firm’s proprietary and agency trading desks and oversaw all financial and regulatory filings. Andrew began his career as an equity trader at L.F. Rothschild Unterberg Towbin in 1986.
Andrew is the third generation of his family in the investment business. Having grown up in the investment industry, he possesses deep industry knowledge and a keen historical perspective. Andrew has published frequently on regulatory issues, market structures, and investment strategy and has been a regular contributor to several publications.
Andrew lives in Charlotte, Vermont with his wife and two children where he serves as a volunteer firefighter and on the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services, Inc. Andrew previously served on the Trustees Outreach Committee of the Boston Athenaeum, the Town of Wayland Board of Water Commissioners, and has been a member of the Boston Securities Traders Association.
